MILES DAVIS
Miles Conducting LA, 1973
Art. no.: ICON-MDA-10124
Ever restless and ever recreating, Miles Davis made a series quantum leaps with his music in the 1970s. His albums, 'Bitches Brew' and 'In A Silent Way' made use of extremely unconventional musical strategies while deploying tape loops, multi-tracking, and other editing techniques foreshadowing the future of recorded sound and DJ culture. After encountering the music of Karlheinz Stockhausen, Davis began creating soundscapes of deep rhythmic funk filling expansive ambient space. This shot of Miles in the spring of 1973 captures the intensity and focus of Miles as bandleader, orchestrating a music beyond imagining.
