Miles Davis Performs at the Plaza Hotel, NYC, 1958 - Fine Art Print
Description:
Six months before recording his groundbreaking jazz masterpiece, "Kind of Blue," trumpeter Miles Davis and his fabled sextet -- John Coltrane (tenor sax), Julian "Cannonball" Adderley (alto sax), Bill Evans (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Jimmy Cobb (drums) -- presaged Davis' new modal directions with a set that included "If I Were A Bell," "Oleo," "My Funny Valentine" and "Straight, No Chaser." Recorded unbeknownst to the musicians, Miles Davis' "Jazz at the Plaza" performance was released as an album in 1973 and on CD in the early 1990s.
