Julie Andrews, "My Fair Lady," 1956 - Fine Art Print
Description:
The original 1956 Broadway version of "My Fair Lady" set the record for the longest-running major musical theater production in history and made a star out of Julie Andrews, who took on the role of Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle in the Lerner-Lowe adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion" after Mary Martin turned it down. "My Fair Lady" opened on Broadway on March 15, 1956, the same month Don Hunstein caught young Julie Andrews deep in contemplation, perhaps subconsciously aware of how completely her life was about to change.
