Glenn Gould Candid Portrait Leaning Back in Chair, 1980 - Fine Art Print
Description:
In 1980, Columbia Masterworks released the "Glenn Gould Silver Jubilee Album," a monumental double-album celebrating the artist's quarter century of the recording for the label. In June of that year, Don Hunstein sat with Gould for his first photo shoot with Gould in more than a decade. Here Hunstein captures Gould, notorious for his eccentric posture and oddly graceful physical movements while performing, literally defying gravity as he leans precariously backwards in a director's chair, his body ready to spring into thin air as he pushes up on the ball of his right foot, one shoe mysteriously absent.
